OnePlus 8 series: The Next-generation phone

The wait is over as OnePlus8 series has been officially launched by the company through a livestream on its official website and YouTube channel. Touted as the next-generation of smartphones, OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro houses the 120Hz Fluid Display with 5G support. Although the launch is preceded by series of trailers, experts were surprised to see the bold launch move by the company amidst the global Coronavirus pandemic. Features of OnePlus8 series

OnePlus 8 series is powered by the Snapdragon 865 System-on-Chip processor and comes in three colors – Onyx Black, Ultra Marine Blue, Glacial Green. Apart from this, the OnePlus 8 will also be seen in a special Interstellar Glow color.

In terms of water and dust resistance, the series has scored 68 on the IP ratings – something much awaited by the market.

Both, OnePlus8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, will be available in two variants – 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 12GB RAM with 256GB internal storage.

According to the claims made by OnePlus, the phone will take 30 minutes to charge from 0 to 50% via the wireless charger technology.

Nearly 10 months after releasing the One Plus7, the company launched its new flagship phone: OnePlus 8 series.

It will be interesting to see the customer response to these numbers as OnePlus has been known to dominate the economical range high-end mobile phone market while this is a jump to the high-price bracket. This is expected to disturb the market distribution among the mobile companies as the OnePlus 8 will directly compete with the Apple iPhone.

All that said, OnePlus 8 series will be available in the United States from 29 April while the company is expected to reveal the launch date for India by the end of May.
