iPhone SE2 rumours have been doing the market rounds ever since the debate between iPhone XR and iPhone 11 settled in 2019. With the low cost-more features combination working for Apple in the XR model, the company is looking to release an upgraded model of iPhone SE. Experts suggest that iPhone SE2, which could also be called as iPhone 9, could help Apple capture the high-end smartphone market as the company is expected to play on price and upgraded features. That said, here’s why the new model could be the perfect iPhone for the Indian market:-
Reviving the iPhone SE
Apple has taken a revenue hit in the last 2-3 years with a constantly decreasing mobile revenue share. It will not be an understatement to say that the idea to revive the iPhone SE comes after its customer base, size, and the company’s need to launch an affordable model of smartphones that can expand its market.
Expected features and upgrades
iPhone SE2 might have a 4.7 inch or 5 inch display screen, single rear camera, 3GB RAM, and approximately 2000 mAh battery. However, following the trend of other smartphones, the Apple Face ID is expected to be replaced with in-screen Touch ID. In addition, the new model will run on the A13 chip – currently in 11 and 11 Pro. This combination would largely appeal to the customers waiting for an affordable iPhone as well as for all the iPhone 7, or lower model, users looking for an upgrade.
iPhone SE2 price
Leading Apple analysts and experts have put the iPhone SE2 in the price bracket of INR 25,000 to INR 30,000. Although this could impact the sales of high end iPhones such as 11 and 11 Pro, it simultaneously creates a customer centric market of iPhone with a competition between XR and SE2. Provided that Apple is able to launch the new model by March 2020, the company’s annual sales are expected to reflect increased smartphone revenue with approximately 25 million units sold across its mobile product line.
