The “Nothing Phone (1)” has been generating a lot of chatter lately. The company has been teasing some of its features, notably the look, for many days. The company is expected to launch Nothing Phone 1 globally on July 12. In a bold move, the company revealed the upcoming phone’s rear design, in contrast to most other smartphone makers, which prefer to keep the final design a secret until the event.
The company’s transparent design philosophy, which it hopes to continue with the Nothing Ear (1) TWS, has gotten a lot of attention. However, users’ opinions on the company’s design have been mixed, with some suggesting it’s just another phone with a transparent back panel—most likely made of tough glass.
The company appears to have used a bunch of LED strips on the phone’s rear panel, including one around the dual camera system that may operate as a flashlight and a few others scattered about. It does, however, have a great appearance. It may not appeal to the elderly or the tech savvy, but it will undoubtedly appeal to younger customers. It’s unclear if these LED lights will be programmable or just function as notification lights, alerting users to an approaching call or message. In any case, it’s a really practical and beneficial implementation of the transparent back.
Aside from that, the phone’s video reveals that the phone’s edges will be smooth and that the body will be constructed of metal. While the phone’s front panel is not seen in the video, It had been anticipated that the display would have a punch-hole design with minimal bezels on all four sides, including the chin. Apart from the fact that the Nothing Phone (1) will be powered by a Snapdragon SoC and will prioritize fluidity and power efficiency, the company hasn’t revealed anything.
Despite being a newcomer to the smartphone business, they capitalize on just being a UK-based company run by ex-OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei and completely manufactured in India.
